Saturnus/Lore
Official Profile
The Roman god of fertility and abundance for the primordial Earth. He is commonly identified as Cronus from Greek mythology. Chaldean astrologists called him the "black sun," which refers to the sun at its lowest point during the winter solstice and is also called the "sun of the night." Some even referred to him as the "king of death," who lives at the bottom of the Underworld. It is said that people prayed to Saturnus, the winter sun, in order to herald a new spring unto the world and that this tradition remains today in the form of Christmas.
